Queen’s Arms Chambers was founded in 2019 by six barristers who had strong ties to the Darling Downs and were each loyal to the regions.

Whilst the Darling Downs has a long and proud tradition in the law for over 100 years; it never had a chamber group. That had to change. Our Chambers is now fortified in one of Toowoomba’s oldest buildings and one of Toowoomba’s first established hotels. Over many years, the building wore many titles. One of the first, however, was the “Queen’s Arms Hotel.” Keeping with tradition, we adopted her name.

In 2020, the Chambers was extensively renovated by skilled local builders. It was carefully furnished and decorated using either local or regional persons who were each masters of their craft. This was done for three reasons. The first was to support the regions. The second was to create a true sense of permanency that would fuel the local profession. Third, to stand the test of time.

We are proud of what we have achieved.

Each member of the Queen’s Arms Chambers upholds the integrity of the profession and serves the ideals of justice, equality and liberty in the law.

When the modified ceiling was removed, we found hidden notes scribed onto the walls. In this note, the author complained about losing a five pound note when filling the old window. Rather than repair, we preserved these pieces of QA’s history.
